French Onion Soup To Be

Here are some beautiful onions that are getting ready to be made into French Onion Soup!  My lovely wife was preparing a fantastic meal and the colour, shape and texture of these onions against the butcher's block just cried out to me for a photograph.  The beautiful, rich purple is what first attracted my attention, but as I began taking the photo, the shapes and light just continued to intrigue me.
